When
looking at a brand strategist there are many different skills that are needed
which are both personal and professional skills when completing and doing the
job and role of the brand strategist. A brand strategist will need to have high
levels of organization skills, teamwork skills, they will need to patient and
as well as hard working.
They the reason a brand stagiest will need to have high levels of organizational skills as they would be trying to represent the brand in the same way on a different
number of sides and platforms, a brand strategist will need to know what the company are posting and where to make sure the message is consistent
throughout the campaign.
A
brand stagiest will also need to have high levels of teamwork skills as they
will be working with different teams and departments throughout creating there
brand to make sure that again their message will be consistent throughout their
company and there marketing. With poor teamwork skills, it will mean that the
different departments may not work well together leading to breakdown and
communications and the brand its self.
In
terms of personal skills, a brand strategist will need to be patient at times.
This is because not all the time the brand concept and idea may not always work
as they need to trust their superiors and preserve through. On top of this, they
would also need to be collecting marketing data which can often be time-consuming but must be done.
Another skill they would need to be would be to be hardworking, in every job it’s a necessity that you will have to be hard working however it is especially when
being a brand strategist as it would mean you would be working hard for long
periods of time with a lot of work to do.
A
brand strategist would need to have passion as a skill in their work to make
sure that they are enthusiastic about it and they continue their work even
though it didn’t work out or they would have to restart it. Passion is also a very important part of being creative as they would be able to be more willing
to take risks and want to do well with their work.
Communications is the last skill that would be used for the brand strategies this would be important as they would need to be able to communicate with the team they are working with so they are able to tell the rest of them his/her ideas so that can get across to them a lot easier. It would be important for them to make sure that they can get information to the rest of the team as they would need to know about what they are planning on doing and how they are able to do.

By
having all 7 of these skills it will really help a brand strategist really
excel in their career development within the media industry and will help them
to progress up the working ladder.

M2 (U24): Explain
how personal behaviours and attributes affect career development opportunities
within the media industry
Creative director
The creative director needs to be creative to have original
ideas and to make sure that they can look over the team to make sure they know
what they are doing, and the team are doing their work correctly. Another
attribute they would need to have would focus this is because they are the most important part of the creative team so the whole team and project need him/her
to be focused throughout the whole of it, so they know what to do and they can
tell the team what to do. They would also need communication skills to make
sure that they can communicate with their team and set out a task or discipline
them to make sure they are doing their work and they know what they are doing.
Give support would also be an attribute that the creative director would have
as they would be able to help their team if they are stuck on any of the work
or if there is a part that isn't done they can do it themselves.
Another attribute that would also affect career development in the creative director
would be being polite and well-mannered within the advertising industry and
around the team that they are working with. This would be important because as
the advertisings are very cliquish, it would mean that everyone knows everyone,
so this would mean people know when someone is rude to someone so it means
everything is kept on tracks making people want to work with the creative
director a lot less if they are rude to people and would make them be stuck
with not being able to get people to agree with them.

This job would entail for the creative director to specialise in
brand development and commercialisation. That can work with top athletes and
key influencers. They want the creative director to focus on providing social
media capabilities meaning they can work with social media and they know a lot
about what they are doing. They would also be able to get up to 65000.00 per
annum which is good pay. They also want a very strong leader that would be able
to influence a creative department to make sure that can-do work. From working
here, they would able to perform better and be more independent so they would
be able to create their own business to be a CEO of it.
This is
another job role for an art director/ creative designer this would be based in
south-east London with £40000 - £50000 per annum. This job wants a decently
experiences art director that has a few years under their belt. They also want
them to be strong in knowledge and software that will be used for their
project.
Bringing
passion is an important attribute for this job role because it brings passion
onto their work making it the best it can be for the whole project this would
make sure that they are being a lot more productive in their works making sure
things are done on time and that they are not behind in their work. The
creative direct would also need to bring passion to their work because it means
that they will not slack off and slowly do there work this means they make sure
its all done from the best of their ability meaning work is not slowed down and
the whole creative team will be more motivated to do their work. Another attribute that would be needed for
the creative director is Leadership skills this would make sure that the whole the team that is under them is doing their work. Having leadership skills makes the team more motivated to do their work and would push them to do their best as
the creative director would make sure that they know what they are doing and
how they should be doing it this would make the creative director more respected
by the team as they find him/her to be a role model or a very helpful team
member. Another attribute for a creative director would be Communication Skills
this is important because it makes sure that the creative director can tell
staff what to do as they would oversee a team that will need instruction and if
they don’t have any communication skills it would make it very difficult for
them to get through to their team.
D2 (U24): Explain
the importance of etiquette when working on a media production
The
importance of being polite when being a creative director helps to give connections
to other people that would want to work with you. This would be because again
as the advertising industry is cliquish if something good is heard about someone
then the rest will know so they would have a good name for themselves in the industry
pushing people to want to work with them on projects and want to help
them in their own works.
Another important
part of having etiquette while being a creative director is to be humble to the team that they are working with and the rest of the industry that they work
under. Being humble helps the creative director a lot as it would make them to
be a respected person not just for their work but to being nice to the rest of
the team this is because as the creative director is being humble they are
showing respect to the teams work and what they are doing so the team would
only want to pay back that same aspect to their leader. This would help them feel
more together as a team to work on a project as well as them having better communication
between them, all making the project go a lot more smoothly.
Communication
is another important part of having good etiquette this would mean being clear
to the team and consistent. As a creative director they would oversee a whole department
it would be important for them to have good communication as it would make sure
that the team would understand as to what they need to do, and it would make sure
the team are not getting confused with another task to do. They also need to make
sure that they keep a professional etiquette with communication as the creative
director is very high on the hierarchy scale.
The Fairness of
the creative director is important as they would need to delicate work to each team.
They would need to make sure that all the workload is balanced and that they have
fair work time. This would make the teams appreciate the creative director more
as they see him/her trying to give them work they are able to do what's fair
and even for the rest of the department. This would also come under the
creative director needing to delegate fairly making sure that things are not to
harsh for the team if they do something wrong making sure that done loose motivation
in their work and keep pushing even if they did something wrong.
Maintaining a positive working environment is also a very important part of having etiquette
for the creative director as they would want to make sure that the whole team are
doing their work and if they don’t have a positive working environment that it
would create tension for the whole team to continue working on the project they
are on leading to team members going off on sick or doing their work half-heartedly.
Knowing your
position and knowing how to treat those lower to you is another etiquette skill
that is needed for the creative director. It would help the team because of it
means that the creative director knows as to how they should talk to each team
member and make sure they know what they are doing. For example, as the creative director is very high in the hierarchy scale they have one main person
that is at the very top that they would talk to personally making sure that show
them respect. They would also have lots of other team members that are lower than
them this is also as important because the creative director needs to show them
respect in a working scene making sure they are not overworking them self or
if they are putting to much on them making sure that they are motivated to do
the work this would be because if the team isn’t treated with respect by the
creative director, they could be less motivated and scared of their own boss
that should be helping them.
